21st overall to Philadelphia for Ristolainen.

Hexy's been a double agent the whole time.

Is it possible that the pens can trade Dumo? Will they let kappy walk (please yes)? Could they move mcginn?

Whats the % chance of each occurring?

I'm interested in a gamble on Brad Lambert. Possibly one of the talented top 10 caliber russians that might fall in the draft. Not to parrot something Ek is running but I honestly could see the team moving 3 firsts + to get into the top 3 picks. No generational talents there but I'd love to take a shot that Wright or Cooley could be a solid contributor over the next 3 or so years.

We don't have any contracts bad enough that I'd want to trade our first to move. Could be something where we might be able to trade Zucker/Pettersson/Dumo plus a first for an upgrade somewhere.

Dumo could easily be moved but I think they are more likely to move Pettersson. Dumo only has one year left and he could very well bounce back. Regardless of being rivals, the Islanders have like 3 defencemen under contract. Pettersson would be a good fit for them. I could see a Pettersson for Beauvillier trade more than Dumo going there.

Kappy isn't walking. Could see them resigning him but more likely that they trade him for another player who hasn't delivered on their potential.

McGinn isn't going anywhere. Which is unfortunate but fine.

Good to see we are getting the 4th overall pick to draft the guy who will be taken by the 3rd pick.

In all seriousness, trading #21 has its merits, but it needs to be for a guy who has a long time future in Pittsburgh, not some 1 or 2 year rental that will move on when they hit UFA.

If the Penguins dont resign Malkin, they will have the cap space to bring in a pending RFA or someone similar for less than market value.

They have to trade one of Dumo, Pettersson, or Matheson. You cant pay a 3LD $4M+ when POJ can do it for a fraction of the price.

If you resign Malkin/Letang for a conservative $16M, you'd still have some cap room to make one impactful signing.

I was going to mention Lambert, I think he is the most interesting option for us. At this point, if we draft a guy, we need the highest risk/reward out there. Either he needs to be a solid NHL contributor or he's a complete failure. A mid-level guy who develops into a 3rd line guy would be useless.

If a highly touted Russian falls due to the Flyers goalie issue, Id absolutely consider taking a chance on him. We already illegally took one Russian from Russia

Colin White bought out. To me, with ERod probably pricing himself too high for the Pens, White could take his place. I'd imagine he'd be willing to sign a one or two year deal in the $1M area.

Why'd they do that? I mean, I know Ottawa is cheap when it comes to spending on players...and it looks like he's injured a fair bit but he is only 25. This is a guy Burke will want, not doubt, no sure about Hex. I'm sure other teams will want him at cheap price too.

My guess is they're going to be aggressive in FA or trading for top players.

White is injured a lot, but he's one of those center/wing hybrids that Hextall likes. No big expectations, but he could be a good fit on the fourth line, but pinch in other areas when needed.

FFS. F Hextall. Nobody was giving CDS anywhere close to that after 2 straight years of core surgery.

Dumb contract for Carter. Now this. Unforced errors. Bring back Rutherford.

That's what the pens fb feed said hopefully someone there messed it up and it's 1.8 total. Hate this signing just a waste of cap space for an often injured and unproven tendy.

I would guess the goalie market is tight and lots of teams are looking for #1 and #2 goalies so they wanted to have him locked up and this is what it took to not hit FA...sucks but kind of has us by the balls

Yeah....I'm not feelin' it at all...

EDIT: having said that Hex is a pretty decorated ex NHL goalie...I gotta try to at least trust his gut and an opinions on goalies....

Goaltending has been the biggest cause for playoff failures and you’re attempting the same duo for the third time?
